Junior Jarek Cunningham hit a three-run home run in the first and added a two-run shot in the sixth as Mt. Spokane routed host Central Valley 14-3 Thursday on the final day of Greater Spokane League regular-season play.
The Wildcats (18-1), who finished fourth in the GSL last season, ran away with this season's title.
Mark Purser added four hits and five runs batted in for Mt. Spokane, which took the lead after scoring four runs in the first.
Boys soccer
Drew Brittain had a hat trick as Lakeside routed visiting Chewelah 7-0 in a District 7 1A playoff game at Nine Mile Falls. Jeremy Tate added two assists for the Eagles (12-3), who begin regional playoffs on Saturday. The Cougars (2-14) are finished for the season.
TennisThe Ferris boys and girls wrapped up first-place finishes in the Greater Spokane League. The Ferris boys blanked Central Valley 7-0 while the Saxons girls topped the Bears 6-1.
